TutorialStep by step📋 Create Bitget API keys

Create Bitget API keys — guide

Bitget API keys are the link between FuturesBot and your Bitget account. This guide shows the secure creation with the minimum required permissions.

Complete Guide

All the necessary steps in the right order.

1

Log in to Bitget

Log in to Bitget.com with your regular account. 2FA should be active — if not, activate it NOW (e.g. with Google Authenticator).

2

Open API management

Click the profile icon at the top right -> 'API Management'. If you have never created API keys before: click 'Create API Key'.

3

Select key type

System-generated API key (not self-generated) is the standard. Choose a descriptive name (e.g. 'FuturesBot Live' or 'FuturesBot Paper').

4

Set permissions

Activate: READ and TRADE (for futures/contract). DEACTIVATE: withdraw/transfer. NEVER activate withdraw permissions — FuturesBot does not need them.

5

IP whitelisting

Enter your IP address (find it via whatismyip.com). Separate multiple IPs with commas. For a VPS: the VPS IP. This makes misuse harder if a key falls into the wrong hands.

6

Passphrase and storage

Bitget asks for a self-chosen passphrase. REMEMBER IT — it is needed for API use. Store the 3 values (API key, secret, passphrase) SECURELY — they are displayed only ONCE after creation.

⚠️ Risk notice: FuturesBot is a technical automation tool — no investment advice, no investment recommendation, no asset management. You determine strategies, leverage and stake yourself. Crypto futures trading can lead to total loss; stop-loss and protection features do not reliably limit losses (price gaps, slippage, liquidation). No profit guarantee; past or simulated results are not an indication of future results. Check every setting thoroughly in paper mode first. Full risk notice →
