🛡️ 2 protection modes 23 trailing stages Exchange-based

Multi-level Risk management

Two selectable protection modes — Smart Profit Protection or 23-level trailing stop. In addition: exchange-based stop-loss on the exchange server (Kraken, Bybit, Bitget), 3-level fallback, liquidation distance monitoring and loss pauses. Leverage freely configurable (MIN/MAX/DEFAULT in the .env, by default 1/5/5). Smart Profit Protection is active by default (PROTECTION_MODE=SMART).

🛡️ Smart Profit Protection

The protection mode with 4 profit zones. The further the trade is in profit, the larger the share of the profit that the trailing stop is meant to secure. Wick Protection is meant to avoid stop-outs caused by short wicks with the software-side stop.

Zone 1 — Entry Protection
Initial stop-loss. Limits the loss to the stop distance — in case of price gaps or slippage it can turn out larger. Wide distance for market movement.
Zone 2 — Early Profit
The stop is trailed to the entry level (breakeven). In case of price gaps, slippage, fees or funding, the trade can still close at a loss.
Zone 3 — Profit Lock
Profit zone (PROFIT): The stop is trailed; a partial close (depending on profile 25–30 % of the position) is possible.
Zone 4 — Deep Profit
Runner zone (RUNNER): The stop continues to be trailed; a further partial sale (25–30 %) is possible, the rest keeps running. The zone boundaries are configurable per strategy profile.

Additional protection features

Candle
Wick Protection
For the software-side stop, evaluates candle closes instead of short wicks: a brief spike alone does not trigger this stop. The stop-loss at the exchange takes effect independently of this, as soon as its price is reached.
Chart
7-factor loss score
If an open position is in the border zone of its loss level, the bot evaluates 7 factors (reversal tendency, holding time, loss depth, momentum, volume, market phase, trend strength) and decides according to fixed rules whether to hold or close — no reliable protection against losses.
Scissors
Partial sales
Partial sales exist only in the PROFIT and RUNNER zones (by default 25–30 % of the position, depending on the profile) — the rest continues with the trailing stop. Adjustable in protection.py.
Proprietary protection profiles: Each of the 6 proprietary strategies has an individual zone profile. The zone distances are preset differently for each strategy (not a recommendation) and adjustable.

📈 23-level Trailing stop

The alternative protection mode — a dynamic trailing stop with 23 profit levels, from small to very large profits. The 23 levels apply to the standard tables: separate tables for BTC, ETH and SOL, the remaining symbols are derived from them and adjusted via their measured volatility (ATR); the cards below describe the tendency of the default setting. 15-minute strategies use 12 levels, additional strategies 11, XAUT its own ATR ladder with 15 levels. Smart Profit Protection is active by default.

The exact level boundaries and trailing distances are default settings (not a recommendation) — fully visible and adjustable in your configuration.

BTC/USD
Bitcoin moves more calmly, hence tighter gaps — a tighter distance triggers earlier on counter-movements.
ETH/USD
Ethereum serves as the reference for the gap calculation.
SOL/USD
Solana with somewhat higher volatility than ETH, somewhat wider gaps.
XRP/USD
Moderate volatility, balanced room for movement.
DOGE/USD
Increased volatility, somewhat wider gaps for meme coin movements.
ADA/USD
Moderate volatility, balanced room for movement.
LINK/USD
Oracle token with moderate volatility.
BNB/USD
Large-cap with lower volatility, tighter gaps.
AVAX/USD
Layer 1 with increased volatility.
SUI/USD
Newer chain, wider gaps to give room to move.
TAO/USD
AI tokens with high volatility, wide gaps.
XAUT/USD
Gold token with low volatility, very tight gaps.
ZEC/USD
Privacy coin with very high volatility, very wide gaps.
WIF/USD
Meme coin with high volatility, wide gaps.
XMR/USD
Privacy coin with increased volatility – wider gaps than ETH.
HYPE/USD
High volatility – wider gaps.
XLM/USD
High volatility – wider gaps.

🔒 Additional Protection mechanisms

Risk management does not end with the trailing stop. Several mechanisms limit losses according to your settings — there is no reliable protection against losses.

Bank
Exchange-based stop-loss
The stop-loss sits directly on the exchange server (Kraken, Bybit or Bitget). Even in the event of an internet outage, server crash or bot crash, the stop remains active. It is executed at the next available price — in the case of price gaps or slippage, the loss can be larger.
🔄
3-stage fallback
Level 1: bot-internal trailing → Level 2: exchange stop (on Kraken, Bybit or Bitget) → Level 3: emergency close on connection loss. Three separate layers.
⚡
Loss pauses
Direction pause: after 2 losses in one direction within 90 minutes, that direction pauses for 120 minutes (adjustable). In addition, a family pause for strategy families whose last trades are at a loss, and a fixed daily loss limit in the code (50 %, not adjustable).
No
Liquidation distance monitoring
Monitors the distance to the liquidation price and reduces the position as it approaches. In fast moves, a liquidation can still occur.
⏰
Time limit
Each strategy has a maximum holding time (default: several hours up to more than a day, adjustable). After that, the bot closes positions without any notable profit; the optional Claude exit check can postpone this briefly. In addition, a safety net of 24 hours applies.
Falling graph
Position Flipping AFSM
Automated 3-pillar system with frequency limit and high score hurdle. Limits frequent back-and-forth switching. On by default (full version): the position is first closed via reduce-only and then reopened.
No entry
🆕 Pyramid-loss block
For a position with a loss of more than −3% (leveraged), increasing it through a new signal is automatically blocked. This blocks the classic "averaging down" — adding to losing positions, which can increase the loss.
SOS
Force-close escalation
If the exchange rejects a close attempt, the bot goes through 5 stages: standard close → cancel stop orders + close again → direct reduce-only order → critical log entry → 5-min cooldown, then new attempts. No Telegram message is sent (push disabled); check open positions yourself on the exchange.
Stop
🆕 Capitulation filter
Blocks SHORT entries when trend strength is extreme + a volume spike + an oversold market (panic-sell constellation).
Chart
🆕 RSI zone filter
Blocks entries in defined RSI ranges. Classic oversold/overbought setups remain untouched.
